CarPlay is available for BMW F-Series models registered from September 2016 onwards and G-series models equipped with NBT_Evo head-units iDrive 5 or 6
Full Screen or Split Screen?
Depending on your iDrive software version, you will either have Split Screen CarPlay or Full Screen CarPlay
Which Software Version Do I Have?
How to find map versions:
Go to “Navigation” -> Choose “Map” -> Press Options button -> Select “Navigation settings” -> Scroll down to “Position and Version” -> Select “Version Information”
You will see NBTevo_******* In the example below, the software version is “R”
Software Version Capability
If your software version is H, J, K, L or M you will have the Split Screen version
If your software version is N or later you will have the Full Screen version
Hardware
To get Apple CarPlay to work, your car must have the Wi-Fi Antenna installed. Some cars came with the antenna already installed and prepared. However, others did not. Here are RepAuto, we can install either a genuine BMW antenna or a cheaper aftermarket antenna to your entertainment system. This install leaves no wires on show and takes under an hour to complete.

Install a Wi-Fi Antenna if required
Install Apple CarPlay to the iDrive system
Carry out any “Coding” Modifications you may require for just £10 extra (Normally £20)
Please note a £50 deposit is required at the time of booking. The unlocking of Apple CarPlay is unique to your vehicle and is non-refundable.
Apple CarPlay is unlocked for the lifetime of the car – If BMW update your software to a newer iDrive version and CarPlay stops working, we will re-activate it for you free of charge.
