Women's Ways, Women's Plays

Women's Ways, Women's Plays tells the story of Corby Women's Theatre Group and includes memorabilia and four play scripts.Too often women's experiences and stories remain unshared and untold, but not if Paula Boulton has anything to do with it. Building on methods and projects from her earlier experiences of working-class organising, the women's movement and her background in the performing arts, she founded The Corby Women's Theatre Group to address the situation.Women's Ways, Women's Plays is the story of this unique project, how it happened and the productions it staged. Using techniques from documentary political theatre - featuring true stories in the words of those whose tales are being told - and immersive theatre, the group's performances explored the issues of the times and how women responded to them, shone a light on matters specific to Corby and its post-industrial predicament and imagined how previous generations of women coped with their own challenges.In addition to marking 20 years of The Corby Women's Theatre Group and celebrating its achievements, Women's Ways, Women's Plays includes four of Paula's scripts written for the group.
